Junior Accountant

Role: Junior Accountant in private practice

Location: London Colney, Hertfordshire

Hours: Full-Time - Hybrid Working (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)

Salary: £25,000

We have an excellent opportunity for a junior accountant to join our client's Accountancy firm, based in London Colney, Hertfordshire.

Our client is a family run firm offering full accounting, taxation and payroll solutions to a wide range of clients. They provide a professional, efficient and friendly service, tailored to their clients’ individual needs.

About the role

They are looking for a junior team member for the accounts team, to carry out accounting tasks across a range of areas including:

• Bookkeeping
• VAT Returns
• Statutory Accounts
• Corporation Tax Returns
• Personal Tax Returns
• Various other support tasks such as contacting HMRC,

They are looking for an ambitious individual who is looking to progress through an accountancy qualification and take on more responsibility as they progress

Must haves:

• 5 4-9 grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including mathematics
• 3 A-C grade A-levels (or equivalent)
• Competent use of Excel and Word

Beneficial to have:

• University qualification at 2:2 or higher
• Some practice experience
• Already studying for professional qualification (AAT, ACA or ACCA)
• Client handling/management experience
• Experience in the use of Xero/Quickbooks, Tax Calc or Sage 50 Accounts.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch. We offer hybrid working with a maximum of two days WFH.
