Salary: £25,000 - £28,000, Plus Great Benefits

The Company:

My client is a UK based consultancy specialising in environmental planning and management. They are part of a larger global engineering and environmental firm known for their expertise in wind engineering, environmental engineering, and building performance. They offer a wide range of services, including ecological surveys, environmental impact assessments, and sustainability advice. They are looking for a Junior Acoustic Consultant to join their Acoustic Team in Brighton!

Known for their high-profile projects, my client supports sustainable development across various sector, including construction, infrastructure, and renewable energy. Examples of their projects include London Football Stadiums, the Prince of Wales Bridge, and high-rise residential buildings in Canary Wharf.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity in which you will work across many areas of the built environment. You will work across both environmental and building acoustics. As a Junior Acoustic Consultant, you will work collaboratively with Senior Acoustic Consultants who will offer friendly guidance.

The successful candidate will be given the chance to work with experts in the Acoustics industry. Junior Acoustic Consultants will be given training and great exposure to high profile projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your work experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conducting BS 4142 and BS 8233 assessments and their respective reports.
  • Carrying out environmental noise and vibration surveys.
  • Performing sound insulation, reverberation time tests.
  • Processing of large datasets in Microsoft Excel.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Acoustics. Other degrees, such as Physics or Sound Engineering, with Acoustics modules will also be considered.
  • Experience working for a UK consultancy, is preferred.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Membership to the Institute of Acoustics (IOA), is preferred.
  • Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
  • Good communication, in the form of report writing and verbal to interact with other key professionals.
