FN UK are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our procurement team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the purchasing process, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring the availability of high-quality materials and goods. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Reporting to: Supply Chain Manager

Duties will include, but not limited to;

  • Assist in selecting and negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, and pricing agreements.
  • Support the evaluation of supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and assist with budget planning.
  • Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock shortages or overstocking.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and align with company goals.
  • Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, delays, or quality concerns.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities, cost analyses, and supplier performance.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement or ERP software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles and market trends.
  • Willingness to undertake training and continuing professional development
  • Professional/courteous approach
  • CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply, or have relevant business experience.
  • Experience working within a purchasing, buying, or supply chain department
  • Good understanding of legal frameworks and contract law
  • Understands supplier relationship management
