Reed Talent Solutions are currently working with UK Hydrographic Office to recruit Junior Data Analysts on 12-month contracts. The organisation The post-holders will support the analysis of marine geospatial data and the generation of products from databases.

Role Information

  • Location: Taunton
  • 12 month contract with potential for extension and/or permanent position
  • 5 week inclusive training programme
  • Pay Rate: £17.38 per hour
  • 4 days per week office attendance with one day per week remote working

Key Responsibilities

  • Tasks will vary between teams. Post holders will be assigned to a team but may be assigned to adjacent teams in response to Business Needs.
  • Interpret simple incoming source information and update databases accordingly
  • Validate S57 data in the database undertaking remedial action as appropriate
  • Identify products effected by updates applied to the database
  • Undertake directed research to support product creation and updating
  • Maintain security records and assist with routine musters
  • Support team strategies to exploit new data and populate data gaps based on Customer division user research and priorities.
  • Update databases from simple sources
  • Simple compilation including; job creation, administration, setting up tasks for use of third-party support and post publication tasks.
  • Additional supporting tasks, including research in support of navigational products, maintaining spreadsheets and some archiving and administration tasks.
  • Share own knowledge with peers to ensure skills are distributed throughout the team.
  • Support continual improvement activity including process improvement, change charters etc.
  • Support visits to the team as required
