LEGAL COUNSEL/LBA EXEC

Our client, a leading international distributor of television programming and formats, is seeking a dynamic Legal Counsel to join their friendly, in-house legal and business affairs team.
You will play a crucial role in supporting all aspects of the company's operations worldwide. This full-time position offers flexibility to engage with various facets of business affairs, including Rights In and Rights Out.
The team is very friendly and supportive and you will be made to feel welcome from day one.
You will work closely with senior counsel and the entire legal and business affairs team across:

Content (Non-Scripted Acquisitions):
  • Collaborate with the Content team, offering legal and commercial advice on acquiring distribution rights.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate development agreements for both scripted and non-scripted projects.
  • Negotiate distribution agreements, focusing on group-produced programs.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with commercial and legal advice to minimize risk and maximize opportunities.
Sales (Formats and Finished Programmes):
  • Advise the Sales team on legal and commercial matters for global content exploitation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate license agreements for TV, digital, format and ancillary rights.
You will have around 1-3 years’ PQE, or equivalent, and take a proactive approach to a demanding workload.  
You will bring media industry (ideally TV) business affairs experience, with a knowledge of TV, copyright and contract law, strong legal skills, clear communication, high organization, initiative, teamwork, attention to detail and, preferably, rights database experience and commercial acumen.
