Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6.30am-4.20pm
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent working Monday - Thursday

They are now looking for a personable, motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchasing Officer to join their busy procurement team based in Erith.

About the Role:

As a Junior Purchasing Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the purchasing process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely availability of quality materials and goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and supplier contracts
• Support the evaluation of supplier performance
• Monitor stock levels and help prevent shortages or overstocking
• Analyse market trends to assist in purchasing decisions
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet business requirements
• Help resolve order discrepancies, delivery issues, or quality concerns
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance

About You:

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient with procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Highly organised with excellent problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of supply chain principles and market trends
• Professional and courteous approach
• Willingness to undertake further training and development
• Ideally holds (or is working towards) a CIPS Diploma or has relevant business experience
• Understanding of supplier relationship management and contract law would be advantageous
