Our client is seeking a Junior Royalties Accountant to join a dynamic Royalty & Third-Party Accounting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the music industry and a background in Royalties Accountancy to further develop their skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
  
In this role, you will work with cutting-edge systems and data, assisting in the preparation of royalty accounting statements, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the finance team in various operational tasks. The position offers hybrid working options.
  
What You'll Do:
  • Edit sales data for upload into royalty systems (Counterpoint and Curve) for third-party accounting purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of royalty accounting statements on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis.
  • Help reconcile and clear balance sheet accounts holding royalty-related balances.
  • Analyse and condense large volumes of royalty data from Recording and Publishing labels and Digital platforms into concise summaries.
  • Prepare journals to process direct royalty income by title across the business.
  • Maintain the Royalties receivable tracker, following up on outstanding reports as necessary.
  • Provide data to finance teams to support balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required by the Royalties Manager.
  
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Up to 3 years’ experience in a similar role or a newly qualified professional looking to grow in royalties accounting.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Knowledge of Counterpoint (Vistex) and Curve royalty systems is a bonus.
  • General understanding of music royalties, publishing, and recording income is a plus.

  • Capable of multitasking and prioritising workloads in a busy environment.
