Key Account Freight Operator

Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Key Account Freight Operator for a well-established Freight Forwarder based in the Egham, Surrey area.

Key duties and responsibilities:-

• Obtaining rates & quoting all modes of transport both international and domestic in a timely manner.
• Executing outbound, inbound, and cross-trade shipments in a consistent and efficient manner
• Liaising with suppliers, airlines, shipping lines and shed operators
• Receiving, put-away, pulling, and dispatching inventory including container and truck loading/unloading
• Booking air, ocean, road & courier shipments with carriers
• Completion of export & import customs entries
• Email and telephone correspondence with overseas agents, UK client and internally.
• Tracking shipments and keeping the customer updated throughout.
• Invoicing - ensuring PO numbers are referenced.
• Passing supplier and overseas agents’ invoices.
• Updating customers with flight and sailing schedules.
• Informing the customer of any delays and providing solutions.
• Ensuring internal SOP’s are followed correctly.
• Query resolution.
• Producing required export / import documentation.
• Building rapport with customers and internal departments
• Ensuring CargoWise data is accurate and up to date.

Person Specification:-

• Computer literate. Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Open-minded and willing to learn.
• Customs entry experience including licensable entries, IPR etc.
• Dangerous goods trained
• Committed and able to deal with challenging scenarios.
• Proactive.
• Empathic to customers and internally looking to provide the best solution.
• Able to respond to immediate customer requests.
• Able to work well as part of a team or individually.
• Reacts well to pressure situations.
• Able to converse with clients, suppliers, and colleagues in a professional and clear manner.
• Industry experience or transferable skills.
