SANZA Teaching Agency are currently working with a delightful, 3-form entry primary school in Harrow who are seeking a teaching assistant in key stage 2 (year group will be negotiated).
The role will be a mix of general teaching assistant work, as well as working 1:1 with a student with special educational needs.
THE ROLE:
As a key stage 2 teaching assistant you will:
- Provide general classroom support
- Work on a 1:1 basis with a student who has special educational needs
- Provide individualised support in class, helping students access learning materials and fully engage in activities
- Support any other students in the class that have additional needs
- Encourage and facilitate participation in classroom activities, promote social interaction, and support learning and development
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson materials and ensure they are accessible for the student
- Behaviour management- be able to employ strategies to address challenging behaviours, fostering emotional regulation and positive responses.
About you:
- Will ideally have experience as a key stage 2 teaching assistant
- Will ideally have experience supporting special educational needs
- Will have a genuine passion for supporting teaching and learning
- Be patient and understanding
- Be flexible
- Have great communication, interpersonal skills and ability to build great relationships
