Kitchen Assistant
  • Location: Various children’s homes around Leicester
  • Job Type: Part-time, 2-3 hours per day over lunch time 
  • Salary: £11.59 per hour (PAYE)

My client, a leading public sector organisation, are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join their team, providing essential support in various children’s homes around Leicester. The role involves assisting with food preparation, cooking, and serving meals during lunchtime hours. This part-time position is perfect for someone who is passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and enjoys working in a team environment.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are cleaned and sanitised.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service role 
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
  • Ability to work well within a team and support colleagues during busy service periods.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
