Kitchen Porter

Premier Work Support are proud to be recruiting a temporary Kitchen Porter for a prestigious educational establishment based in Chertsey - KT16 postcode.

Our client requires easy going, adaptable & versatile kitchen porters to join their team. Their kitchen porters are not just behind the scenes - they're skilled contributors and they're ready to jump in and lend a hand when the kitchen heats up.

Our client believes in a small, focused team of like minded individuals, they're after seasoned pros who bring experience and maturity to the table & with lots of fun on the way.

The restaurant will be open lunch & dinner, Monday to Friday only, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

About the job

• You will be taking responsibility for the storage & stock rotation of all food & disposable stock items.
• Deep cleaning of the kitchen will happen on one day of the weekend when the restaurant is closed. All other kitchen upkeep & cleaning duties will be shared between all team members in the kitchen.
• Some food preparation duties will be part of your day-to-day duties, bringing variety & enjoyment to your work.
• Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
• Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
• Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
• Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
• Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
• Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
• Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
• Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed
