KS1 Teaching Assistant

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single form entry primary school located in Runcorn town centre as they are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced teaching assistant to support the year 1 and 2 classes. This is a full-time temporary position and the school have confirmed that they would look to appoint the correct candidate on a permanent basis after Christmas.

Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting the year 1 and 2 classes. You will work alongside the class teacher to ensure that all learning resources are effectively utilised in a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment and implement a myriad of positive behaviour techniques. You will support your new pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, with a focus on phonics and speech and language development. You will encourage your students' social and emotional development by actively encouraging them to give input and take part in learning, which will in-turn build a strong constructive relationship. You will use your initiative to identify students that may be struggling with set work/lessons and give additional support as needed to promote learning outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK and an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, as well as:

• Be able to offer intervention and booster sessions on a 1:1 and group basis
• Be able to take a pupil-centred approach to learning
• Be willing to commit to a full-time contract
