Hays is currently working with a primary school in the Wigan area who are looking to appoint a lower KS2 teacher from September to cover a maternity post until August 2025. The school are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join their successful team. This school places a high emphasis on pushing pupils to reach their potential, and they are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher that sets high expectations for their pupils. There is a strong support network within the staff and there has always been positive feedback from staff that Hays have placed here.

Your new role

In this job role, you will be responsible for a lower KS2 class and will be taking on full class teaching responsibilities. This will include planning and delivering lessons as well as holding regular assessments. You should be able to build relationships quickly and easily, as well as have good behaviour management skills. You will have the support of an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant as well as a support staff network within the school. You will want to strive for academic growth for the children in your class and feel confident in tailoring materials to suit the ability and learning style of individual pupils.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum is preferred, however, this could be a perfect role for an NQT/ECT that is looking to gain some experience working within the primary school environment.
