An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Teaching Assistant to step up into a Cover Supervisor role, 33 hours per week (term time only, plus training days) in Key Stage 2. This role also offers future progression opportunities for applicants who wish to pursue teacher training.

Job Purpose

To supervise whole classes to cover short term absence of teachers and to allow teachers to carry out professional duties and training.

To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.

This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes.

Essential requirements:

  • Very good numeracy/literacy skills - GCSE Grade C Maths and English or equivalent
  • Effective behaviour management strategies
  • Experience of working with children of primary school age
