The Role:

Are you an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician looking for a unique and exciting experience?

We are opening a new £5.5 million Sixth Form Centre within University College Birmingham and are looking for a proactive and efficient Laboratory Technician to join our friendly staff and provide practical support for our A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics groups.

This is a unique, career-defining opportunity to join our innovative team at the start of our journey, helping us to build a transformative education experience where our A-level students benefit from accessing the world-class vocational facilities at UCB, including health simulation suites, robotics, and food chemistry labs. Working within our brand-new laboratories, you will be a key player in shaping our innovative science programme and empowering our students as responsible and creative scientists.

Taking the lead in setting up the labs, sourcing materials and developing requisition processes, you will be responsible for maintaining all equipment and keeping prep rooms and labs clean and well organised. To ensure safe and effective science learning and teaching, you will co-ordinate and prepare resources that support the practical curriculum delivery of A-level Science, ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are met.

Enjoying working independently, you will be an approachable person with a can-do attitude. Being a valued member of our caring community, you will help our students to flourish as global citizens and inspire them with a passion for STEM subjects.

You will have previous experience of working in a laboratory.
