We are recruiting on behalf of our client for Labourers - Waste Operatives in the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire. These roles are working 6 days per week including a Saturday or a Sunday shift. As this role is working on a Health Care site, a standard DBS on the Update Service would be needed.

Duties

  • Operation of the waste compactors in the FM Yard
  • Moving and emptying wheeled waste bins into the compactors using the bin lift equipment provided
  • Washing waste bins using bin washing equipment provided
  • Checking waste removal receipts and ensuring they are all passed to the Waste Manager
  • Contacting the waste disposal company for bulk removal of waste when necessary
  • Ensuring the waste disposal company for bulk removal of waste when necessary
  • Ensuring the waste compound is clear of debris and windblown rubbish/litter
  • To undertake cleaning of footpaths and roads around the site, litter picking and debris removal (cigarette ends, chewing gum etc)
  • Empty litter bins around site and transport the waste to the bulk waste container
  • Clean plant rooms and transport the waste to the bulk waste container
  • Operation of cardboard baler in FM Yard
  • Ensure correct segregation of bulk waste items and WEEE waste

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to own vehicle for travel between sites, and be appropriately covered for business use on insurance. Expense Mileage will be paid when own vehicle is used
  • Candidates must possess basic computer literacy skills
  • Evidence of working within acute health care premises would be advantageous (but not essential)
