Salary Range: £40,000 to £60,000 dependent upon experience

Location: Eastleigh or Gloucester, Hybrid

Large Loss Household Claims Negotiator:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate individual who is committed to a role in Large Loss as a Large Loss Claims Negotiator in our Technical Household claims team.

As a Large Loss Claims Negotiator, you will specialise in managing all aspects of large loss claims handling.

You will be responsible for the progression of your own portfolio of cases, providing insight to your Manager as

appropriate.

You will be required to play an active role in Large Loss project work.

You will be required to collaborate with other areas of the business including underwriting and actuarial.

You will be a role model leading by example

Main Responsibilities as Large Loss Household Claims Negotiator

•        Investigation and evaluation of Household large loss claims including the determination of policy indemnity, legal liability including causation and quantum

•        Optimising claims settlements to ensure your portfolio of claims is settled in a timely manner and on a cost effective basis in the best interests of Ageas and our policyholders

•        Working in conjunction with our panel lawyers, Counsel, adjusters, and other appropriate professionals to build an effective team to achieve the best possible outcome for Ageas and our policyholders

•        Taking responsibility for investing in your own self development including ensuring that you remain up to date on all relevant legal changes, insurance regulations and industry trends

•        Being involved in wider Large Loss Household claims initiatives

Skills and experience you need as Large Loss Household Claims Negotiator

  • •        A solid background in handling household/commercial large loss claims with a value in excess of £150,000
  • •        An ability to problem-solve and manufacture creative solutions to complex issues.
  • •        An ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • •        An enthusiastic and proactive approach to learning
  • •        Excellent communication skills, with an ability to build a rapport and forge strong relationships
  • •        Able to demonstrate a curiosity to create and discover ways to become more effective
  • •        An ability to assimilate information quickly and to identify those areas key to the claim’s handling
  • •        Independent decision maker
  • •        Commercially aware
  • •        Strong negotiation skills
  • •        Good team player.
  • •        Numeracy and data literacy skills
  • •        Experience of mentoring more junior team members is desirable.
  • •        Progression towards a professional qualification within insurance is desirable.
