Lead Applications Scientist - Personal care - Widnes

Due to growth a Lead Application Scientist role has gone live with FTSE 100 company. The company is a global leader in speciality chemicals and has an excellent track record of career progression across the business including previous Lead Application Scientists progressing right through to Director level roles. We are looking for a passionate individual who has a real interest in hair care and would like to be part of a growing team!

The role:

  • Applying technical knowledge and skills in evaluating products to meet the needs of the Hair Care market.
  • Performing a wide array of instrumental methods. This will include materials science tests and other industry specific methods using hair fibres as the substrate in addition to developing novel test methods to produce differentiated data.
  • Statistical evaluation of the data produced to validate product claims which relate to the end consumer (e.g. conditioning, styling).
  • Working on shorter term customer focussed projects and longer-term NPD projects.
  • Regular contact with global technical hair care teams
  • presentations to the commercial teams, internal research teams and external customers.

Requirements

  • Industrial experience or knowledge of Hair Care
  • Degree educated in Chemistry, Materials Science or relevant subject
  • Any testing methods related experience is desirable
  • A background in applied/materials sciences but be desirable
