I am recruiting for a Senior Bioinformatician / Computational Immunology Lead at an innovative vaccine design scale up business to join the senior leadership team and direct the immunology strategy.

Join an exciting vaccine discovery laboratory as an Computational Immunology Lead. I am seeking an experienced professional to head a computational immunology role, critical to vaccine design. This is a brilliant opportunity to apply your expertise in adaptive immune responses, antibody design & computational methodologies.

Key Responsibilities of this position:

  • Develop and establish state-of-the-art computational methodologies and pipelines to address complex immunological challenges, with a focus on humoral vaccinology.
  • Antibody design. Predicting design. Predicting antibody structure. B Cell receptor.
  • Implement deep learning and statistical models to interrogate immunogenicity determinants such as BCR specificity, affinity, immune repertoires, and antibody avidity.
  • Oversee the integration and analysis of public immune and structural data (e.g., AIRR).
  • Use established pipelines to guide the design of de novo proteins.
  • Develop and implement a long-term immunoinformatics strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate and lead across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of computational biologists.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • PhD. in Immunology, Structural Biology, Applied ML, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in immunoinformatics - either from academia or from industry positions but must have exp in leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading complex immunoinformatics projects with advanced computational methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of stats & deep learning methods applied to immunology research.
  • Comprehensive understanding of antibody structure and function.
  • Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and databases related to antigen discovery and vaccine development, including AIRR data sources.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

This role is offering a salary from £75,000 to £95,000 per annum and is available on a remote basis or otherwise. It also comes with a wealth of benefits such as private medical insurance, 26 days holiday + bank holidays, enhanced sickness coverage, pension and much more!
