Lead Data Engineer

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the organisation's data infrastructure supports its business objectives and enables data-driven decision-making.

This lead Data Engineer will be very much hands on play a key role in helping to build out the Data Engineering function. The key initiative for this Data Engineering team is to migrate the on premise Data to AWS Cloud.

The lead Data Engineer must have:

  • Lead Data Engineering experience
  • Strong AWS cloud experience.
  • Experience with AWS Glue and Lambda
  • Experience in AWS services, e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Lambda, API Gateway
  • Strong experience ETL Pipelining experience
  • Proficiency in database technologies, such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing platforms.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Snowflake, Redshift.
  • Strong Python/Pyspark experience
  • Containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with master data management, data security, data governance frameworks and processes.
  • Experience leading and building out data engineering teams and mentoring juniors.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Insurance experience is highly preferred.
