Position: Lead English Teacher
Location: Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Doncaster
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

About the Role:

As the Lead English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences and outcomes of students who require additional support. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, tailored to the needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student engagement and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the English curriculum and teaching practices within the PRU.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers to support student development and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English, ideally within a PRU or similar setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A compassionate and resilient approach to working with young people who face various challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
