Lead Field Engineer - EPOS & IT

Southern England including Greater London

£32,000 basic + standby supplements + overtime + van + benefits package

On-site working hours 9am to 5:30pm, Weekends & Bank Holidays Standby Rota (premium paid)

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced Lead Field Engineer looking for a supportive and interesting working environment and company culture. The role involves working with a wide variety of different EPOS, I.T. and Network Hardware platforms across a variety of different customer sites including Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Retail, Leisure, and Healthcare.

The Lead Field Engineer role is critical in delivering both IMAC and Break-Fix for our customers. In this role you are on the road, interacting directly with our customers, solving their EPOS & IT problems, and making sure their business can trade successfully.

Lead Field Engineer Responsibilities:

The role is varied, and no two days will be the same. As Lead you will allocate work calls amongst the team, support the wider team in their success and queries as well as undertake your own workload. You will also be responsible for overseeing installations and technical training of your team,

You will need to be able to demonstrate experience and understanding in the installation, troubleshooting and support of the following:

  • SLA driven EPOS & IT Support into Hospitality, Retail & Healthcare outlets
  • Diagnosis and rectification of EPOS, Networking, and IT issues
  • IMAC - Install, Move, Add and Change of EPoS, IT & Networking devices
  • Physical installation of devices, including mounting, and cabling
  • Project work including AV, Digital Signage and Customer Rollouts
  • Providing on-site support services on EPOS, I.T. and Network/Comm’s infrastructure, hardware, and software
  • Timely and accurate paperwork completion
  • Cabling Infrastructure (Cat5, Cat6, Wireless etc.)
  • Customer interaction and communications

Additional requirements:

  • Full drivers license and comfort spending extensive periods on the road
  • Full 5-year DBS checkable history (to enable airside passes to be arranged at airports)
  • Experience of team support/leadership
  • Be first to receive training on new equipment and/or customer requirements for cascade training
  • Supervise and mentor Field Engineers as required
  • Ability to use standard Microsoft Windows and Office products
  • Ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers, Ability to methodically work through on-site problems from point of arrival to satisfactory conclusion
  • Willingness to be based from home and to travel as required by the company, including the need for overnight stays away from home as required
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan, time manage, and multi-task. Flexibility, reliability, tolerance, and energy
  • Joining the Standby Rota (Weekends & Bank Holidays)
