Our fixed income indexing solutions include recognized branded indices such as those for stocks (S&P 500), Commodities (GSCI), bonds (iBoxx) and credit derivatives (CDX & iTraxx), to list a few.

The Team

Focused on developing solutions for a broad range of clients, the Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) team is responsible for the P&L of outcome-oriented index solutions such as iBoxx bond and leveraged loan indices globally (including Sustainable Fixed Income indices), CDS indices, Commodities and Alternatives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a product team in a growth stage.

The Role

The team seeks a Director to support and promote our Fixed Income Tradables product initiatives globally, including the management of CDS indices (i.e. iTraxx / CDX) as well other tradable derivatives benchmarked against our iBoxx indices (i.e. Standardized iBoxx Total Return Swaps / Futures, etc.). The candidate will play a critical role in supporting the team as they help evolve and execute the fixed income tradables strategy, including forming new partnerships, launching novel indices with market impact, maintaining current and developing new products by performing and producing analytical work within and across teams.

The candidate, alongside commercial teams, will be a key player in developing and executing critical team processes as part of the Fixed Income Tradables business strategy. This is a highly technical role, but it also requires effective collaboration skills and a commercial-focused mindset to achieve the team's strategic priorities. In addition to being a hands-on Product Manager, the candidate will be an integral team member, collaborating across adjacent teams to achieve strategic goals.

The candidate may also assume the role of a people leader in the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Focusing on the Fixed Income Tradables market across strategy types, work across the FICC team to support the success of the franchise; help identify new product opportunities to help drive commercial success
  • Proactively drive client engagement and maintain strong relationships with key sell side, exchanges, CCP, SEF and end user clients to strengthen existing and source new product opportunities
  • Manage the leading suite of credit indices, including the CDX and iTraxx credit index series, as well as supporting products linked to the S&P credit ecosystem
  • Manage market ecosystem of tradable use cases linked to iBoxx Index Franchise (cash indices)
  • Work closely with clients in their product development process, especially in the credit derivatives space, including (but not limited to) credit-linked notes, total return swaps, CDS index options, synthetic credit structures, alpha strategies, index futures, etc
  • Be viewed as a key subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of index methodology and processes; possess an intimate understanding of internal processes, including product launch lifecycle
  • Support team members in client engagement and analysis, including internal and external presentations / Powerpoint and data analysis and mining / Excel; be a leader in the understanding and articulation of underlying index methodologies and construction logic
  • Support the coordination of the index launch process; collaborate with the broader PM team and relevant internal stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Governance, Sales, etc.).
  • Support internal team initiatives, including materials relating to business strategy and processes
  • Contribute to product innovation and enhancements, including index methodology consultations and annual index reviews
  • Publish regular commentaries and other marketing materials to promote the fixed income tradable ecosystem
  • This role will manage a team of Product Managers
What we're looking for
  • 10+ years of experience working in FI structuring desks, portfolio management, index vendors or related fields
  • Extensive industry knowledge about most impactful trends and future direction of the fixed income, asset, wealth and capital markets
  • Global product strategy development and execution leadership experience with commercial acumen
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in mathematics, finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to roll up the sleeves and execute
  • Knowledge of the index industry and its competitive landscape
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Programming skills (Python, R, Matlab) a plus
  • Knowledge of analytical platforms such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MSCI / Barra, or Axioma a plus
  • CFA or progress towards CFA a plus
  • CAIA or progress towards CAIA a plus
