Job Title: Project Leader – Information & Records Management

Location: Barrow-in-Furness –on site

Salary: From £43,373 – depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Championing compliance with BAE Systems’ IRM (Information and Record Management) Policy, to improve the digital and physical records management capabilities within the organisation so that the Business meets its legal requirements
  • Supporting the Information Manager as the lead and focal point for information and records management across the business and inputting into the strategy for information management and managing the comprehensive suite of governance documents
  • Taking charge of governance and assurance initiatives to uphold high standards throughout the information lifecycle, ensuring seamless management and compliance at all stages
  • Support the Information Manager with compliance against Nuclear Site Licence requirements with responsibility for the management of documents and records associated with Nuclear Safety
  • Assisting the Information Manager in delivering insightful reports on IRM compliance within Submarines, including the biannual Operational Assurance Statement return, showcasing our commitment to transparency and accountability
  • Overseeing the Submarines Records Store and Business Library, ensuring all records and library items are stored, easily retrievable, and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of IRM principles, standards, and industry best practice
  • Able to work unsupervised and on one’s own initiative

Desirable

  • Knowledge of SharePoint/Office 365
  • Understanding of UK Government marking scheme
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

The Information & Records Management team:

As an Information & Records Management Project Lead you will support the Data Protection & Information Manager to ensure compliance with the BAE Systems’ Group-wide Information & Records Management Policy and for ensuring that the business complies with certain obligations under its Nuclear Regulation Licence Conditions across all BAE Systems Submarine sites.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work closely alongside IRM leads within the various Maritime business units and Records Teams within the other UK Business Units. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
