The Client:
Our client is a well-established therapeutic school, offering education and therapy for pupils to pupils with adverse childhood experiences.
The Role:
As a Lead Psychotherapist, you will oversee and ensure the integration of therapy into the school's curriculum.
You will be instructing students from KS1 to KS2.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary therapy contact for families, assessing and supporting their needs.
- Develop and implement initial and ongoing therapeutic programs aligned with educational health care plans.
- Maintain high standards in therapy delivery and reporting, ensuring progress tracking and compliance with internal protocols.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external professionals to enhance therapeutic services.
- Conduct staff training sessions and provide structured support for reflective practice.
- Tailor therapy programs to individual student needs, aiding their educational and social development.
- To foster positive relationships with students' families through regular phone or email communication as needed.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as a Psychotherapist or in a similar role.
- Experience working with children and young people in challenging situations, particularly those with SEN and SEMH.
- Background in own specialised therapeutic field and working in an educational or similar environment.
- Knowledge of therapeutic practices within specialised fields and a broad understanding of child mental health and development.
- Possess a relevant degree and accredited by a recognised professional organisation (such as BACP).
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage complex cases and lead a therapy team.
- Advanced proficiency in English and mathematics.
- Additional qualifications in therapy, child development, special educational needs, or leadership and management would be desirable.
