Reading - Lead Software Engineer - £70k-£90k - Retail

Platform Recruitment has partnered with one of the most integral organisations within the water industry. They are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to lead the development of their patented cross-platform, multithreaded application. This role requires deep expertise in C++ development and a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Main Duties:

+ Leading the design, development, and maintenance of their application

+ Supporting and leading the upgrade of C++ versions

+ Seamless integration of systems

+ Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

+ Engaging with customers to understand their needs and providing on-site support when necessary

Experience/Qualifications Desired:

+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in C++ development

+ Experience with C++03

+ In-depth knowledge of Windows API and Linux OS

+ Proven experience in developing cross-platform, multi-threaded client-server systems

+ Experience with software development for applications that interact with peripheral devices


Salary/Location:

+ The salary for this position is £70k-£90k depending on experience

+ The office is based in Reading, however there are hybrid working opportunities available

+ The role may require travel to client sites (infrequent)
