Learning Mentor | Birmingham, B8 | £90 - £105 per day | September 2024

We are seeking a committed and empathetic Learning Mentor to join our partner primary school in the Saltley area. This role involves working with vulnerable children who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges that impact their learning. You will collaborate closely with families, parents, and teachers to identify the needs of the learners and develop strategies to help them overcome these barriers. The school is looking for someone to start full-time from September, with the position becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students working below age expected levels.
  • Help create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and implement strategies that promote positive outcomes.
  • Foster active participation and engagement in learning.
  • Assist students with their overall wellbeing by providing targeted interventions to support their learning and development.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess experience in a supportive role within a school or in counselling, or mentoring positions with children.
  • Have experience of working with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Be passionate about helping children overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
