Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Primary School in Camden, London

Position: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract with Potential for Permanent

About Us: We're seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in Camden, London. This supportive and inclusive school is committed to delivering an excellent educational experience for all students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with children with various SEN needs, providing 1:1 support and assisting within the mainstream classroom. This full-time role begins in September 2024 and spans the entire academic year, with the potential for becoming a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN needs.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials.
  • Support the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN needs is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
