Learning Support Assistant - Macclesfield

Prospero Teaching are working with an excellent mixed Secondary School located in Macclesfield.

The school are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to start in September 2024, on a full-time basis. Hours are 8.30 am to 3.30 pm. ( Negotiable for the right candidate )

This is a highly rewarding role. The school are looking for individuals that are supportive, non-judgemental, patient, easy to talk to, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to pupils in a manner which encourages and supports them, enabling you to build trusting relationships.

You will be supporting pupils across the age and ability ranges, both on a 1:1 and in small groups. Previous experience of working with young people is desirable, but not essential. A team player with patience, understanding and a willingness to develop is required.

This role is ideal for graduates and aspiring teachers, looking to gain more experience prior to applying for teacher training. If you also have a background in youth work, mentoring or support work, please do apply.

Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

To be eligible the Learning Support Assistant must have:

  • Fully enhanced DBS
  • Calm and nurturing approach
  • Personable
  • Reliable and hard working.
