Learning Support Assistant

Join our dedicated team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a vibrant secondary school environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and are committed to enhancing the educational experience of young learners.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to secondary school students with SEN, ensuring their educational needs are met.
  • Write detailed reports for the SENCO and parents, documenting student progress and any obstacles faced.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to foster a learning environment that accommodates the needs of SEN students.
  • Participate in the development and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students.
  • Aid in nurturing social skills and positive behaviours among students.
  • Conduct group and one-to-one sessions with SEN students to support their learning journey.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Proven experience working with SEN students at the secondary level.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with SENCO, parents, and staff.
  • A minimum of a pass grade in Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Evidence of highest qualifications must be provided.
  • Right to work in the UK is essential.
