Learning Support Assistant

We are on the lookout for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is passionate about aiding students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school environment. This full-time position is perfect for someone eager to positively influence the educational experiences of young learners.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Offer personalised support to secondary school students with SEN, ensuring their educational requirements are met.
  • Compile comprehensive reports for the SENCO and parents, highlighting student progress and any obstacles faced.
  • Work in partnership with teaching staff to cultivate a supportive learning environment that meets the needs of SEN students.
  • Aid in the creation and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students.
  • Help develop social skills and positive behaviours among students.
  • Conduct both group and one-on-one sessions with SEN students to bolster their academic and personal development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a secondary school context.
  • Demonstrated experience with SEN students at the secondary level.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with SENCO, parents, and staff.
  • A minimum of a pass grade in Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Provision of evidence of highest qualifications is required.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
