Position: Learning Support Assistant (Special Needs)

Location: Leeds, UK

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term from September

About the Role:

Career Teachers is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a well-regarded special needs school in Leeds. This full-time, long-term position starts in September and focuses on providing essential support to students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work one-on-one and in small groups with students with autism to support their educational and social development.

- Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials.

- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to each student's needs.

- Support students in developing communication and social skills.

- Help manage classroom behavior and provide a structured environment.

- Assist with personal care tasks and mobility support if required.

- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and caregivers regarding student progress and well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Experience working with children with autism or in a special educational needs (SEN) setting is advantageous.

- Passionate about working with children with special needs and committed to their development.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Patience, resilience, and a nurturing attitude.

- Willingness to undergo necessary background checks.
