We are looking for a Learning Technologist to join our team.
Working within the Learning Technology team, the Learning Technologist (LT) will actively support the use of learning platforms and applications seeking to improve the student and staff experience. They provide support to staff and students, helping resolve issues, and providing advice and training on the use of technologies.
This role focuses on the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and technical support of the virtual learning environment (VLE) and multiple other learning technology applications. You will assist in the duplication of online modules and content uploading. You will take great care to ensure that our learning materials are accessible. You will provide helpdesk support for our staff and students resolving issues quickly and thoroughly, escalating when necessary.

Essential Skills

Experience of technical administration of online platforms, especially Moodle.

Experience of library services in an educational organisation.

The ability to professionally communicate methods and practices effectively and coherently to third party audience groups.

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, supportive and professional style.

Consistently self-motivated with on-going ability to take appropriate initiative, manage multiple tasks, establish work priorities, and balance competing priorities and deadlines to a high standard.

The ability to work with limited direction from the Learning Technology Manager regarding appointed specialist areas (library focus).

A willingness to learn the use of new platforms.

An awareness of the importance of accessibility in online learning.

Computer literate with excellent understanding and knowledge of current web technologies, trends, and developments.

Excellent written and spoken English.

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience).
Desirable Skills
-
Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.

Familiar with recognised web usability and accessibility standards.

Familiar with recognised e-learning technical standards, e.g., SCORM, ensure they are adhered to where appropriate.

Prior experience working in post-secondary education.
