The primary responsibility is to plan, deliver, assess, evaluate, and manage classroom activities in vocational curriculum areas to maximize learner achievement and success.
- Teaching Load: 20 hours per week
- Preparation: 10 hours per week
- Administrative Duties: 6 hours per week
- Review: Subject to service needs
- Deliver a pre-agreed vocational curriculum program using diverse approaches.
- Set, monitor, assess, and record learners' outcomes and progress.
- Teach and incorporate employability skills, including functional Maths, English, and Digital Skills.
- Provide course-related information, advice, and assessments to guide learners.
- Ensure proper enrollment and tracking of learners' attendance and achievement.
- Ensure compliance of visitors with service policies.
- Prepare and assess learners' work to facilitate program completion.
- Provide necessary information for exams and accreditation.
- Design and develop courses aligned with service objectives.
- Disseminate course information to relevant parties.
- Stay updated on professional developments and participate in CPD programs.
- Attend and contribute to team and service meetings.
- Participate in service-wide initiatives and events.
- Contribute to the professional cover duty rota.
- Support Quality Improvement strategies and the annual self-assessment cycle.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion; challenge discrimination.
- Integrate equity and diversity into team and service operations.
- Adhere to Council policies on health and safety, safeguarding, data protection, etc.
- Arrange and agree holiday leave in advance, outside term-time, unless exceptions apply.
- Perform any other relevant temporary duties.
- Ensure actions align with the Council’s climate and ecological emergency declaration.
- Essential: Minimum Level 3 Teaching Qualification with a commitment to achieving Level 4, ongoing CPD.
- Desirable: Relevant degree or higher qualification, Assessor/Verification Qualification, First Aid Qualification.
- Essential: Proven experience in teaching adults, successful learner achievement, working with diverse adult learners.
- Desirable: Curriculum development, experience with OFSTED inspection framework.
- Essential: Understanding of adult learning contexts and success factors.
- Desirable: Knowledge of local adult learning needs, experience with blended/hybrid learning environments.
- Essential: Strong ICT/Digital skills, effective communication, interpersonal skills, commitment to equality and diversity in learning support
