MacKenzie King is proud to be working once again with a trusted international business based in the Ipswich town centre. This role will make up part of a small, specialised team made up of long term, supportive colleagues managing portfolios for a number for the businesses within the group. The successful candidate will be someone who has a high attention to detail who enjoys digging deeper to investigate and resolve problems to complete postings in a timely manner to mitigate the creation of bad debt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the active management of payable amounts (inwards balances) on designated accounts spanning multiple portfolios. It is important that this portion of the ledger is proactively managed, rather than relying solely on reactive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams across the business to ensure time sensitive incoming correspondence is actioned in good time.
  • Responsible for the investigation and reconciliation of unallocated cash for all portfolios. Using your own initiative to obtain documentation including reaching out to other internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Achievement of cash reconciliation to be obtained, or recommendation for bad debt write on/off where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all cash received from is posted to the ledgers and reconciled with technical transactions, preferably within 30 days of receipt. If cash cannot be cleared, a reason for non-clearance is to be detailed within the accounting system and referred to the technical department for assistance when additional processing is required.
  • Ensure that all debts are considered to be a potential risk to the company and the escalation procedure is follower.
  • Involvement in projects and reporting as and when these are agreed with the business.

Essential Experience

  • Good interpersonal and written skills

  • Experienced in using various operating systems, including Teams and Outlook and Excel
  • Able to contribute effectively to meetings and briefing sessions
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise and recognise order of importance
  • Build up and maintain a network of contacts internally and externally
  • Ability to work well within a team and on own initiative
  • Good communication with co-workers, management and our oversea offices
  • Demonstrate understanding of other roles and deadlines etc
