Legal Advisor

We are seeking a skilled Legal Advisor to provide comprehensive legal and commercial support on construction and supply contracts within the renewable energy sector across the UK and Europe. The role will initially be for a one year contract, full time, however, part time 4 days per week is also available. This role involves handling a diverse range of contract values, from tens of thousands to potentially billion-pound agreements. You will be working alongside senior stakeholders to offer advice and guidance within a highly regarding team. Proficiency in NEC or FIDIC contracts would be advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Offer legal and commercial advice to the business unit.

- Support sales and business development through contract reviews.

- Assist in project work, including contract preparation and review.

- Draft and maintain standard templates.

- Manage claims and disputes with clients and contractors.

- Instruct external law firms or counsel as necessary.

- Draft and review non-disclosure agreements.

- Provide internal training on legal and compliance matters.

- Oversee export control and data protection compliance.

- Advise on general compliance issues.

- Collaborate with the legal team and participate in company meetings.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Knowledge and experience with NEC, FIDIC, BEAMA, or similar terms, preferable but not essential

- Qualified legal professional

- Strong ability to review, draft, and negotiate contract amendments.

- Excellent communication skills for both internal and external discussions.

- Pragmatic and collaborative approach, with strong negotiation skills.
