Legal Assistant

Annual Salary: £30k per annum

Location: Southampton

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks and will act as a key point of contact throughout the course of a matter. This role is perfect for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage file opening and closure processes efficiently.
  • Perform administrative tasks including creating digital and offline bundles, typing from dictation, and collating medical records.
  • Support the credit control process by creating bills and paying invoices in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and team liaison, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the course of a matter.
  • Provide initial advice and guidance to new clients via phone or email, demonstrating professionalism and empathy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a legal support role.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in typing from dictation and managing legal documentation.
  • Experience with billing and invoice management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
