Legal Cashier and Office Administrator FTC 12 months

Up to £35,000

Manchester M2

To independently manage the day-to-day financial operations of the firm on a fixed-term basis (approximately 9-12 months). This role will also provide administrative support to the team.

Requirements:

  • Confidence to carry out the role effectively.
  • Initiative to propose effective solutions to problems.
  • Comfortable working independently with limited supervision and as part of a small team.
  • Professional, business-like approach to work and appearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage own workload, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

Legal Cashier:

  • Monitor the main Client and Office bank accounts, allocate receipts, and facilitate payments and transfers.
  • Oversee the online approval process.
  • Manage credit control and cashflow.
  • Handle accounts payable and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Process client ledger disbursement invoices and arrange payments.
  • Raise bills and post to the relevant client ledger.
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies or issues.
  • Address supplier and client ledger queries.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Approve and process staff expense claims.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and compliance standards.

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer incoming calls, take messages, and redirect calls as required.
  • Handle email inquiries.
  • Open files and conduct AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks.
  • Perform scanning and binding tasks.
  • Upload documents to case matters.
  • Close and archive matters.
  • Manage programme administration.
  • Approve holidays.
  • Provide ad-hoc cover for receptionist and administrative roles.
