Legal Counsel

Tech Business

London or Bristol - 1 day per week in the office

£85,000 - £100,000

A leading SaaS business that was founded in 2012 are looking for a passionate and motivated Legal Counsel to join their growing team in either London or Bristol.

Working in partnership with their General Counsel, you will have the chance to shape the legal function in a time of impressive growth and international expansion. You will be at the forefront of ensuring that the business navigates the complex legal landscape. The role will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the business and you will offer legal advice on a diverse range of matters across different markets.

Responsibilities

  • Scrutinise, draft, and negotiate a wide spectrum of commercial agreements, ranging from employment contracts, service agreements, vendor contracts, licensing, and strategic joint agreements
  • Offer legal counsel and support on all aspects of employment law, encompassing hiring practices, employee relations, , discrimination, and workplace policies.
  • Ensure seamless alignment of company operations with pertinent laws and regulations across all operational jurisdictions
  • Drive and lead on training sessions and workshops for both employees and management teams, fostering a deeper comprehension of legal obligations and mitigating legal risks
  • Collaborate across multiple departments, including People, Finance, Risk, Product, and Operations teams, to provide pragmatic and succinct legal support for business initiatives and projects
  • Remain abreast of shifts in laws and regulations relevant to the ever changing industry and operations, and communicate potential impacts to key stakeholders

Experience

·2+ years inhouse legal experience, ideally within the technology space

·Experience in commercial contracts, particularly in overseas jurisdictions, together with corporate and fundraising experience would be advantageous

·Experience with employment law

·Experience in a Legal Counsel role that is quite varied in responsibilities

·Efficient and extremely organised in order to juggle tasks and projects in an independent and proactive manner
