Job Title: Legal Counsel

Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Salford Quays, Manchester

Salary: £44,000 - £60,000

About the Role:

I am excited to be working with an exciting insurance client, looking for a qualified Lawyer with 1-3 years PQE to join the team. This hybrid role lets you work from home and the office, with occasional travel to other Group locations.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales.
  • Experience: 1-3 years PQE with a focus on commercial contracts and corporate law.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, project management, legal research, and strong communication.

What You'll Do:

  • Advise stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Maintain legal registers and support Horizon Scanning.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
  • Manage legal risks, including those related to litigation and compliance.
  • Assist in drafting company policies and procedures.
  • Engage with external and internal stakeholders for documentation and compliance.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong legal research and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal software.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, including the Companies Act, GDPR, and FCA rules.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders.
