A national law firm with an excellent reputation are looking to add a Legal Secretary to their Private Client team in the Newcastle office.

Supporting the partners and fee earners, you will be part of a private client team, providing a wide range of legal services. This role is offered on a permanent basis, working 9:00 - 5:30, 37 hours per week in the Newcastle office with hybrid working available.

About the role:

  • Consulting with partners and fee earners in terms of prioritising workload.
  • Managing fee earner diaries and being aware of their commitments, including organizing client meetings.
  • Prepare and draft documents as prepared by fee earners.
  • Prepare incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Speak with clients on the phone, help where possible and update fee earners.
  • Open and close files, scan, and file documents.
  • Produce and assist with completion of monthly bills.

About you:

  • Competent in all Microsoft packages and experienced in document management systems.
  • Collaborator who will communicate effectively with other secretaries, to ensure tasks are completed in line with timescales.
  • Excellent at document preparation, including house style, schedule levels, stripping out and re-formatting documents.
  • Good with dictation, and a fast and accurate typist • Initiative-taker and able to prioritise workload.
  • Pleasant and efficient telephone manner • Previous experience working within a legal setting.
