Salary: £34,000 - £37,000 per annum

About The Role

Our Health and Safety team, live and breathe all things health and safety. If you share this passion and are experienced in delivering engaging and effective Lift Truck and mechanical handling training courses, we want to hear from you.

Health & Safety is our fastest growing business division. With this in mind, we are now looking to recruit a new Lift Truck Trainer to support our forecasted growth. This is a field-based role that will involve delivering training on our client's sites across the UK. Due to the nature of this position, you will be required to stay overnight close to training locations.

This role is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

As our newest Lift Truck Trainer, you will report into our experienced Health & Safety Training Manager and be supported by our team of highly experienced and skilled Trainers and administration staff.

What will I be responsible for?

Joining the team as a Lift Truck Trainer, you will be focused primarily on the delivery of Lift Truck courses, although there will be opportunities to become involved in delivering the wider range of courses we offer.

Your role will also include:

  • Administering associated examinations/tests to determine operator competencies in accordance with award/regulatory body requirements.
  • Updating & developing new courses and associated courseware to reflect changes in legislation and/or best practice.
  • Undertaking routine/periodical checks of the Lift Trucks, Racking and resources in compliance with the recommendations/requirements of the HSE/Legislation/Manufacturer
  • Maintaining the general upkeep and housekeeping of the Lift Truck facility
  • Maintaining records in compliance with organisational and external award body/agency standards.
  • Keeping up-to-date with new and related Lift Truck/Plant Operating/Safety development issues and legislation to increase personal knowledge, skill and experience in order to continually improve the training delivered.

What will I need to succeed?

To be successful as our newest Lift Truck Trainer, passion, attitude, and enthusiasm will be key. You must be able to demonstrate proven experience of delivering a range of mechanical handling courses including counterbalance and reach training.

You will need customer centric and be able to engage effectively with customers from a broad range of industries and deliver training sessions in a way that positively influences the development of a safety culture. Alongside your proven experience as a Trainer, you will also have the following qualifications / accreditations:

  • Practical experience in the design and delivery of mechanical handling and lift truck training
  • A teaching (PTLLS or equivalent) qualification - desirable
  • Full UK driving license
  • ITSAR, NPORS or RTITB accreditation

Proven experience of delivering overhead crane and slinging and lifting training would also be highly beneficial.
