We have a temporary position available with our client who is finishing her studies in Law and Criminology at the University of Liverpool. This role will be 3 weeks of work from the end of May until early July. For an amazing candidate this role may be reoffered as a permanent position from September, once the client returns to university for their masters.

Start Date: 26th May 2025
Location: Liverpool University (L3)
Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live-in)

Rate of Pay & Benefits

- Pay: £180 per day / £1,260

- Free accommodation while on shift

- Holidays: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)

- Bespoke training in the client’s particular requirements

- On-call support from client coordinator

About our Client

Our client is a third-year Law and Criminology student at the University of Liverpool. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a neuromuscular condition that causes muscle weakness and fatigue. She uses a powered wheelchair full-time and requires assistance with everyday tasks such as personal care, dressing, cooking, cleaning, and general support.

- Independent and Social: Enjoys attending events, socialising with friends, and leading an active university life.

- Determined and Resilient: Manages her studies and social life with enthusiasm and perseverance.

You will provide our client's personal/health care and social support. This is also a "flatmate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work and includes all the fun things you’d expect a university student to be doing, helping our client to socialise and make the most of her university experience. A key role will be to support our client in furthering her independence skills.

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

About You

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care; therefore, full training in her particular needs is provided.

Requirements:

- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (Essential)

- Physically fit, calm, patient, and caring

- Commitment to shiftsand reliability

- Fluent in English

- Social and outgoing: Enjoys events, work, and university life

- Domestic skills: Capable of cooking, cleaning, ironing, and washing

- Organisational skills: Able to work on your own initiative

- Sense of humour and maturity: Positive attitude with a responsible demeanour

- Excellent communication and hearing skills

- Clean and tidy: Both in appearance and habits

- Non-smoker

You must be able to respect our client's privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
