As the Logistics Coordinator you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation of goods via airfreight and ocean freight, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with regulations, and efficient customs clearance. You will liaise with clients, carriers, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth import and export processes. The role demands strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

You will be responsible for:

  • Manage the end-to-end import and export processes, including booking cargo space, arranging pickups, and coordinating delivery schedules.
  • Receive customer quotations via varying methods - email/online portal. Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed time-frame. Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on shipment status, resolving issues, and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally. Build and develop strong relationships with customers.
  • Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and other transportation providers to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve any transportation-related issues.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with airfreight shipments, such as delays, damages, or customs disputes, by implementing appropriate measures and contingency plans.
  • Optimise transportation costs by evaluating shipping routes, carrier options, and service levels to achieve the most cost-effective solutions for clients while maintaining service quality.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the airfreight import/export operations and implement best practices accordingly.

Previous experience:

  • Previous operational knowledge of Airfreight
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar Logistics position.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, written and communication skills.
