Job Title: Logistics Specialist (Crane Operator)

Location: Bristol - Filton
Type: 12-Month Contract
PAYE Rate: £15.88 per hour
Umbrella Rate: £21.00 per hour
Schedule: 6:30 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Specialist with expertise in crane operations to join our team in Bristol - Filton. This role primarily involves the operation of cranes to move high-value equipment within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in crane operations and the handling of high-value goods. Additional experience with forklift operations and as a banksman is highly desirable. This is a physically demanding role, requiring strong logistics and heavy gang/warehouse logistics skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crane Operations: Safely operate various types of cranes to lift, move, and position high-value equipment and materials.
  • Equipment Handling: Ensure the secure handling and transportation of high-value goods, minimizing the risk of damage.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work closely with the logistics team to plan and execute the movement of equipment and materials.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts to transport goods and assist in loading and unloading tasks as required.
  • Banksman Duties: Direct crane operators and other equipment operators to ensure safe and efficient movement of materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety checks on equipment and work areas.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all crane operations, including load weights, equipment movements, and any incidents.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Crane Operation Experience: Proven experience in operating cranes, particularly in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • High-Value Goods Handling: Demonstrated ability to safely handle and move high-value equipment and materials.
  • Forklift Operation: Experience with forklift operations is highly advantageous.
  • Banksman Certification: Certification or proven experience as a banksman is desirable.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy loads.
