To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Logistics Supervisor to come and join our team at our supreme concrete factory in Sittingbourne ME10 3SL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading In Safety –Delivery of the Non Negotiables around daily safety behaviour conversations, housekeeping standards and safety moments and improvements each day.
  • Create and lead a positive safety culture within the Logistics team – recognising positive wellbeing and safety behaviours, ensuring periodic observations are completed of tasks being performed against SSOP’s (and feedback provided accordingly), and maintaining high zonal and mobile plant standards across the area.
  • Lead the Logistics and LPP teams to ensure that all customer requirements are Planned, Picked and despatched in line with agreed SLA’s and OTIF objectives, including ensuring a weekly production plan for the LPP is in place and followed.
  • Daily contact and initial point of escalation for day-to-day operational activity and issues/queries from the Logistics, Transport and Customer Service teams regarding Planning, Picking and Loading.
  • Ensure resources such as equipment and a machinery are maintained and ensure full contractor control is in place, including being trained and responsible to raise, monitor and close Permits to Work.
  • Responsible (with support from the Site Logistics Manager) for the planning and execution of training and deployment of staff, planned in the best way to reduce operational impacts
  • With the help of the Logistics Co-ordinator assist in producing paperwork relevant to the operational tasks.
  • With the help of the Logistics Co-ordinator ensure that all team members, and non-conformities /defects reported/actioned carry out daily compliance checks accordingly.
  • With the support of the Site Logistics Manager attend and hold Logistics Tier 1 meetings / deputise for Site Logistics Manager in Tier 2 meetings.
  • Working with the Site Logistics Manager carry out weekly resource planning (Inc Holiday requests and training) to ensure the correct resource is available to complete daily tasks.
  • Undertake and use training for operational software such as Cognos, Evotix and JDE.
  • Ensure all operatives in the department satisfy Financial Control requirements – i.e. Operatives and Hauliers print/date/sign all Loading Notes.
  • Ensure accurate archiving of Loading Notes and Dispatch Notes for speedy retrieval when a requirement to review old documents presents itself.
  • With support from the Site Logistics Manager, carry performance reviews with team members within the agreed timelines.
  • Carry out Return to Work meetings with team members following absence and complete the appropriate documentation.
  • Undertake and use training for Sales and Operational Production planning to ensure customer requirements are achieved whilst maximising production availability against budget production targets.
  • Ensure mobile plant preventative maintenance is completed – including activities to check fork depth and chain stretch ahead of insurance inspections, with adequate time and planning to swap components as required ahead of said inspections.
  • Be involved in planning and help deliver the changes required to both process and morale in the yard.
  • Lead to team to investigate and, where necessary, root cause and implement corrective/preventative action to reduce customer concerns attributed to Logistics & LPP to target levels.
  • Develop and execute a plan to reconfigure the Logistics Yard Areas, to reduce journey times and inventory discrepancies.
  • Support the Site Logistics Manager and Logistics Co- Coordinator lead the Finished Goods and Quarantine Stock Take activities at the defined periods, as per the standards expected by external auditors, and support with variance investigations.
  • Set the Yard and FLT Parking Area visual standard, teams maintain the standard, management audit the standard
  • Successfully trained in IOSH Managing Safely – and principles from training visibly deployed during team leading.
  • Successfully trained in ILM Level 3 – and principles from training visibly deployed during team leading activity.
  • To control and minimize absenteeism – i.e. RTW’s, STS management, issue Letters of Concern.
  • Deputise for the activities of the Site Logistics Manager.
