Special Educational Needs (SEN) College Teaching Assistant

Position: Group Teaching Assistant (Temporary or Permanent)Location: Stoke-on-Trent - South

A vibrant and inclusive SEN college is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and work with small groups of students. The college caters to students aged 16-25 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), autism, and related challenges. The environment is fairly calm, and provides personalised support to help their students thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in group work settings, supporting students during lessons and activities.
• Provide personal care as needed.
• Collaborate with other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt to changing needs and potentially transition to 1:1 support if required.

Requirements:

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for both children and adults (we can assist with this process).
• Flexibility to work from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Friday). Hours may be subject to review.
• Passion for working with young adults and promoting their independence, progress and well-being.
