Are you an experienced LSA looking for a new challenge in supporting pupils with additional needs in the Tower Hamlets area?

Academics are seeking to recruit a part-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work two days per week on Thursdays and Fridays on a long-term basis at a school in Tower Hamlets. This role involves assisting with the learning of a pupil who is set to join Year 6. The position will commence as soon as possible and interviews will take place on a rolling basis.

The school is looking for an LSA with recent experience in the Tower Hamlets borough, ideally someone familiar with referral processes and CAHMS. Experience in KS2 and personal care is preferred but not essential, as the pupil will be entering Year 6.

Described as "a thriving and vibrant primary school," this institution is conveniently located within a short walk of several stations, making it easily accessible by public transport from various parts of Tower Hamlets. The LSA will initially be appointed on a contract basis, with pay rates ranging from £170 to £190 per week, depending on experience (DOE), with potential for permanent placement subject to funding.

Applicants for this LSA role must have:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Child workforce DBS (Ideally on the update service)
  • 2 recent school-based references
  • Right to work in the UK
