We are working with a well-respected aerospace company based in Lancashire who are looking to add several machine operatives to the team on a temporary basis due to an extensive order book.  The machine operative will report directly to the Working Team Leader and ensure that all components comply with the drawing requirements, tolerances and required specifications.

Job Description

• Select and load specified fixtures tooling and program to machine (for CNC machine measure tool and set tool compensations).

• Select and monitor established feeds and speeds and take appropriate action where necessary recording and reporting any problems to the Working Team Leader.

•Achieve and maintain established process and task times for jobs throughout batches or single piece flow scenarios

• On manufacture of the first component self-verify that all parameters conform to drawing requirements stamping / signing production cards

• Engaging in 6S and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities including removal of swarf, topping up of coolants, keeping machines and work areas clean and tidy

Machine Operative

Essential Skills/ Experience

• Highly skilled and proven machinist capable of working to Aerospace tolerances

• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings

• Time-served apprenticeship or similar qualifications and /or experience of aero structure products

• Strong work experience within a manufacturing environment
