Machine Operator/Grinder - Full-Time - Glossop (SK13)

A well-established manufacturing business in Glossop is looking for a Machine Operator/Grinder to join their team.

Shift Pattern:

  • Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:15 PM - 11:30 PM
  • Fridays off

Pay Structure:

  • First 3 months (Day Shift Training): £12.21 per hour
  • After training (Shift Work with 15% uplift): £14.04 per hour

Role Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and running assigned machines efficiently
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Performing preventative maintenance on machinery
  • Ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained
  • Reporting daily outputs, submitting paperwork on time, and escalating concerns when necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ability to read drawings and set up/program machines
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Pneumatics fault-finding and mechanical repair experience
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • IT literacy and experience with computer-operated machines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

This role involves working with complex machinery, but full training will be provided for a reliable, career-focused individual looking to establish themselves in a long-term position within a quality-driven organisation.
